John Morgan

 

John Morgan founded Morgan & Morgan in 1988. The firm consisted of three lawyers and three secretaries. At that time, the firm decided to advertise electronically, a difficult and controversial decision. In 2001, Morgan & Morgan celebrated thirteen years in business. The firm now employs 90 lawyers, 60 case managers, 30 paralegals and over 400 people on staff. The initial advertising budget for Morgan & Morgan was $100,000.00. The advertising budget for 2002 was $7,000,000.00. In 1995 the firm formed Morgan & Morgan in Tampa. The Tampa firm now employs 25 lawyers and over 100 employees. That office of the firm began with no cases.

 

Today, Morgan & Morgan has over 10,000 active files in Orlando and over 6,000 active files in Tampa. In 1988 the firm's total revenues were just over $600,000.00 for the year. In 2000 the firm's revenues exceeded $55,000,000.00. Additionally, the firm attracted 1,800 breast implant clients as a result of electronic and print media. Also, the firm attracted 1,000 Fen-Phen cases and those have now been settled. Morgan & Morgan practices only plaintiffs work; Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Abuse, Workers Compensation, Insurance Law and all other Personal Injury related matters are the firm's specialty.

 

Mr. Morgan graduated from the University of Florida as an undergraduate and attended The University of Florida College of Law, graduating in 1982. Mr. Morgan has lectured extensively for the Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers where he sat on that board for four years and served as a FLAG trustee for the Academy's political arm until 1998. Mr. Morgan has been A.V. rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is currently overseeing the firm's expansion into Jacksonville, Florida. He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida.
